Title: Foreign Language Storytelling With The Smartboard

Description: By combining the SMART Board and storytelling, engaging lessons can be created for students of all levels in their exploration of language and vocabulary aquistion. In this session, we'll explore how this is a great way to introduce vocabulary in a creative and fun way--and get students to converse in the target language in less intimidating class environments. There will also be time for a discussion component where we will brainstorm and collaborate on other possible applications.

Title: Today's Problem Solving In Automotive Technology

Description: This presentation will include problem solving techniques used by students to make difficult automotive repairs. The use od ALLDATA online diagnostic aids and NAPA PROLINK allow all students to:

Identify how students can research specific recalls, campaigns, and use ALLDATA to identify the manufacturer's specifications for system parameters, operation and potential malfunctions.

Title: Designing a Hybrid Course: The Power of a Multi-Dimensional Learning Space

Description: With digital tools, classrooms can extend beyond the four walls and become engaging communities for students 24/7. In this session, we will explore the power of creating a multi-dimensional learning space and how all classes can make use of technology regardless of the subject matter. Participants will have an opportunity to explore the various examples created by the PE Leaders, a two year hybrid course requiring students to utilize various modes of technology including Google Sites and Moodle. Within these areas, students create and update websites, participate in online discussions, and take refresher quizzes before teaching various units. If time allows, we will engage in hands-on activities.

Title: What Are Students Doing Behind Your Back?

Description: It's revealing to see the process students undergo to complete homework assignments. Get an inside peek at the kinds of questions your students ask outside of class, the types of resources they access at home, and the time of day (or night) they are working. We will examine student use of two library subscription services to understand how they contribute to student learning in your classes. Once you know what services and materials are at Glenbrook students’ fingertips, you can encourage them to take advantage of these resources. If you want your students to get more from their homework or projects than Google has to offer, this is the session for you!

Title: Exploring the Depths of Assistive Technology
